Introducing Camp Molly Lauman’s International Camp Staff

At Camp Molly Luaman, we’re very luck to hire international exchange students each summer to work at camp. This is a wonderful experience for them, but also a great opportunity for our campers to be introduced to international cultures. This year we already have staff coming from England, Scotland, Wales, Ukraine, and we’re hoping to add one from Ghana.

Here are three newly hired international staff members who want to say hi:

Camp Nickname: Brave
From: Scotland

Brave is studying Film and Media and is currently building her portfolio in London. She was a Brownie and a Girl Guide until she was 14 and is excited to get back into the world of Girl Scouting!

Brave will be using her expertise to lead our Lights, Camera, Action camp, where Cadettes will make their own stop-motion animation films.

Camp Nickname: Milton
From: England

Milton just graduated from Cardiff University in Wales, with a degree in English Literature. She was
a Brownie and Girl Guide when she was younger and says that she was always very enthusiastic about group activities and loved cooking! She says, “I still love cooking and baking now, and spend a lot of my spare time creating new exciting recipes for my friends to try.”

If you love cooking too, check out Junior Chef (grades 4-5), Cast Iron Chef (grades 6-8), or Culinary Camp (grades 9-12).

Milton says, “I am excited to go to Molly Lauman because I am looking for a new adventure myself! I can't wait to meet new people and help everyone enjoy their summers. I am really looking forward to learning new things and getting involved in all of the rural activities. I am hoping to make people smile and just generally help the girls feel like they can be themselves. I'm looking forward to the variety that will come with working with new groups regularly and the challenges and fun that lies ahead.”

Camp Name: Willow
From: England

Willow is an Events Management student at Leeds Metropolitan University. Willow has spent a lot of time volunteering for different events from Fashion shows to Charity events. She says that her “favourite volunteering experience was working as a Promo Executive at the South by South West event in Texas 2012 because there was a busy and vibrant atmosphere and I got the opportunity to meet lots of interesting people.” Willows goals is to use her degree to produce educational but fun events for schools covering topics such as being safe on the internet, bullying, and choosing future careers. That passion for inspiring kids to greatness is why we think she’ll be a great camp counselor! If you too have a passion to make a difference in the lives of younger kids, check out Leader In Action (Option 1 or Option 2), Counselor in Training (Option 1 or Option 2), or Counselor in Training 2!

Willow says that she’s “excited to make new friends of all ages, get creative, work hard, play hard, take part in all activities, to go on an adventure and to have an experience of a life time at Camp Molly Lauman.”
